Helping Community Groups Get Online
Easily, Affordably, and Without the Hassle.

The internet is essential for connection, but many community groups and clubs struggle to establish an online presence due to cost, complexity, or a lack of technical expertise. TGNZ Connect was created to remove these barriers by providing fully managed web hosting specifically for nonprofits, clubs, and grassroots organizations.

So why offer this service for free or on a pay-as-you-want basis? Because I believe community matters. Many of these groups bring people together, preserve traditions, and support causes—but without a website, they can go unnoticed or struggle to grow. It started with just one club—North Harbour Tripe n Onions—where I saw firsthand how difficult it was for small organizations to get online. That experience led to the creation of TGNZ Connect.

TGNZ Connect operates differently from traditional hosting providers. Instead of expensive datacenters and costly enterprise hardware, the infrastructure runs on efficient, low-cost, and often repurposed second-hand hardware—a sustainable and cost-effective approach that allows me to keep this service accessible. By making the most of available resources, I can provide a no-frills, reliable hosting solution without passing on high costs to the groups who need it most.

This is a best-effort service, not a commercial operation, and availability is based on resources and alignment with the mission of supporting community-driven organizations. Some groups choose to contribute financially to help sustain it, which helps keep the service running and growing. While I strive to support as many organizations as possible, hosting is offered at my discretion and may not be available to every group indefinitely. The goal is simple: to provide an accessible hosting solution for community organizations where possible, without the usual technical or financial barriers.
